The two mainline English dailies today started speaking about our campaign #MumbaiMetroMess, without actually naming the people’s movement. Surely the trigger being the Chief Minister of Maharashtra taking them on a guided tour across Mumbai to throw an ostensible cover over the rank inefficiencies of his tenure that helped some contractors and corporates to efficiently launder the taxpayer’s money.
But why did the Chief Minister of Maharashtra suddenly take the journalists on a “Conducted Tour” via a PR firm?
……That too, within 3 days of a petition being moved for setting accountability in #MumbaiMetroMess?
Why did the same journalist, who snubbed the “people story” of this mess, publish a politician’s story with people’s data..?
Well, this is “Efficient laundering” of opinions I would say.
And as it brings a smile to my face, I am reminded of the old management adage which says that “Work always gets done faster if one is willing to give away credit”.Our fight is not for credit, has never been …
Our fight is to set accountabilities.
Our fight is to get people their due.
Our fight is against Corporate Collusion.
Our fight is to improve a Mumbaikar’s Quality of life.
Our fight is to clean #MumbaiMetroMess.
…. And am happy that the people’s movement has got the media attention. This takes the movement to many more people; many more people get to know of the facts we have been speaking about; As many more citizens start asking the “Accountability” question, the CAUSE would be served … and we shall thank the media, evermore, for helping us out!
Tomorrow, I would write about how this mess is not letting Mumbai become a global city, and as “Efficient Laundering” of opinions is expected to continue, we would expect our media friends to take the same to masses.
Let me quote Shri Dushyant Kumar’s Famous lines here
Jai Hind, Vande Mataram!
